The Vyne: A Tudor Treasure in Hampshire
The Vyne is now owned by the National Trust, which has restored and preserved the house and its treasures for visitors to enjoy. You can explore the opulent state rooms and humble servants’ quarters, admire the pre-Reformation chapel with stained-glass windows, and discover the stories of the people who lived and worked here.
The Vyne is also set in gardens, woodlands and wetlands, where you can enjoy nature and wildlife. You can stroll along the Lime Avenue leading to a 17th-century summerhouse and a 600-year-old oak tree, wander through the walled garden and orchard, or watch birds from the hide. There are also three circular walking routes in the ancient woodland, where you can spot bluebells, fungi and deer.
After exploring the house and grounds, you can relax at the cosy Brewhouse tea-room, which serves light refreshments and hot and cold beverages. You can also browse the shop, which has highlights from National Trust ranges alongside locally sourced goods.
