Big Wheel 2026
Big Wheel 2026 rolls into Basingstoke on Sunday 14 June - and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest, brightest charity cycling days the town has ever seen.
Starting from War Memorial Park, this iconic St. Michael’s Hospice fundraiser brings riders of all ages and abilities together for a full day of cycling, community spirit, and countryside views.
The Event
The Big Wheel has been a Basingstoke favourite for more than 30 years, raising thousands for St. Michael’s Hospice. For 2026, it returns with six routes, each designed to offer something different — from serious mileage to family‑friendly fun.
Routes for 2026 include:
Long Route – 78 miles (set off 7:30–8:30am)
Medium Route – 57 miles (8:30–9:30am)
Short Route – 23 miles (9:30–10:00am)
Beginner Route – 9.5 miles (10am)
Little Wheel – 1k laps around War Memorial Park for children to pedal, push, or scoot as many laps as they like
(All routes provisional)
Riders will take in sweeping views across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex, with fully signed routes and support teams keeping everyone safe and moving
