An introductory workshop to the wonders of watercolour
The Willis Museum is hosting a bright and creative half‑term workshop led by Artist Educator Veronica Williams. This hands‑on session introduces children to the playful world of watercolour, showing them how colour behaves, how water and pigment interact and how to build confidence through simple, expressive techniques. The focus is on sustainable art‑making and encouraging young artists to experiment, explore and enjoy the process. The workshop is designed for children aged eight to eleven. Each child must be accompanied by an adult, although only the participating child needs a ticket. The session lasts two hours and takes place in a relaxed, supportive setting that welcomes beginners as well as children who already enjoy art.
The event runs on Thursday 28 May 2026 at 10.30am at the Willis Museum in Market Place, Basingstoke. Tickets are fourteen pounds per child. The museum offers family‑friendly facilities including baby change, a café, a gift shop and accessible amenities.
